Watches Halifax Metro and Halifax County West 10:58 AM ADT Saturday 20 July 2013 Severe thunderstorm watch for Halifax Metro and Halifax County West issued Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon or this evening over Nova Scotia. Strong winds, heavy downpours of rain and possible hail may occur with some of these storms. This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions. Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon or this evening over Nova Scotia as a result of a very warm humid airmass and an approaching cold front. Some of these storms could give strong winds, very heavy downpours of rain and possible hail.
