From Eva Hughes: These are folks in the NYC carriage industry at City Hall today. I have known some of these guys since I started working with them in my early 20s. While I am closer to some more than others, I can tell you this: NONE of them deserve to be demonized, marginalized, and vilified. None of them should have to take time away from their work and their families to fight for their right to exist, trooping down to City Hall every few years because of a handful of know-nothing lunatics, who are now being manipulated by millionaires for their own ends. It is bizarre, absurd, and an affront to common decency. You can help to stop the spread of the animal rights disease. In your daily lives, say NO to animal rights; do not let them gain a foothold in your community, in your field of work, in your lives. Dont let them go unchallenged. Support those of us who fight them. Normal, healthy people care about animal welfare, not animal rights. Know the difference, for all our sakes. The Animal Rights leaders and grassroots organizations are very adept at blurring the lines between Animal Welfare and Animal Rights.
