From Food Babe: Mom bloggers are being used by Monsanto to further their cause of selling more chemicals that we then eat and making that okay...no really, its happening...now. This is part of Monsantos new PR plan to reach mom bloggers and turn them into advertisements that dont ask the tough questions. Because hey...mom bloggers gotta make money too...right? If you are a blogger considering working for Monsanto, I encourage you to do some research on this companys history. Remember Agent Orange? Thats them. Heard of GMOs and Roundup? Thats them too. Heard about the entire town of Anniston, Alabama being poisoned by PCBs and the multi million dollar settlement that resulted from the large scale coverup? Thats them too. Heard of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas? That was their lead council. Heard of the citizens in Nitro, West Virginia being poisoned by Agent Orange and the settlement that happened this year? Thats them. Heard about family farmers being sued like crazy and losing their farms? Thats them. Ever hear about people complaining about evil corporations? They are seen as the 2nd most evil corporation according to public polls. Google before you get in bed with companies. That piece of advice may save your reputation with a number of things... The ironic part about this luncheon for Monsanto, according to a source who was at the luncheon...there was lots of talk about farmers and women and drought resistant corn...backyard chickens..and loving to farm...but no conversation about Glyphosate being toxic or about farm workers having higher rates of disease from working around chemicals OR how the US has only 60 years of topsoil left resulting from poor stewardship of the land which is resulting in less yield requiring more water...which we dont have. Or super bugs or super weeds or how GMOs are not saving the world like they promised over 20 years ago....but hey chemicals require less work thats for sure..until Mother Nature changes things... Farmers are moms too was what i gathered was the main focus...but Monsanto isnt a farm company...they are a chemical company. That part confuses me... AND some of the bloggers who went didnt want it known. Most of them didnt know about Monsantos history. And some of these bloggers were afraid about what would happen to their reputation if others found out they were present. Or they were afraid of being attacked by the general public. But they still took the $150... Whats your opinion about Monsanto targeting mom bloggers? Would you ever work for them? How do you feel about chemicals used on your food? And of course sharing is caring. alj.am/1nOB4Zm
