From Gay: Heres the official press release for The Fourth Rule Of Ten! Media Contact: Amanda Smith, asmith@hayhouse Ojai Relationship Expert Publishes Fourth Book in Mystery Series OJAI, CA—January 5, 2015-- Gay Hendricks, New York Times bestselling author and Ojai resident since 2001, has just launched the fourth installment of his popular detective series. The series features the Tibetan-Buddhist private detective, Tenzing “Ten” Norbu. Screenwriter Tinker Lindsay is co-author of the series. The new book is titled The Fourth Rule Of Ten and is published by Hay House. Hendricks, along with his wife, Dr. Kathlyn Hendricks, is the author of many non-fiction books, including the classic relationship book, Conscious Loving. He didn’t start writing mysteries until he was in his 60s. “I wore out a copy of The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes when I was thirteen and fourteen years old,” said Hendricks. “My English teacher even started calling me ‘Sherlock’ because I was never without my tattered paperback of his adventures. I knew I would someday write a mystery novel of my own; I just didn’t know it was going to take me 50 years to do it!” Hendricks created his hero, a meditating private eye with a keen interest in spiritual matters, out of his own experience. “I’ve been a daily meditation practitioner for more than 40 years,” revealed Hendricks. One of the most stressful times in his life was when he worked full-time on his Ph.D. at Stanford in the early 1970s. “I was a single parent at the time, too, which is in itself a full-time job. A fellow student in the Counseling Psychology department turned me on to meditation and metaphysical books such as the teaching of G.I. Gurdjieff and J. Krishnamurti.” He learned to meditate in 1973, and it completely changed his life by giving him a quiet space to drop into, out of the busy-ness of his life. “It made such a difference I haven’t missed a day of meditation since 1973.” In The Fourth Rule of Ten and the other books in his series, Hendricks’ private detective, Tenzing Norbu, uses meditation and other spiritual tools as he grapples with the criminal element in modern Los Angeles. The series has received more than 700 positive reviews on Amazon and other venues. Screenwriter Tinker Lindsay is co-author of the new mystery and the other books in the series. Robert Ferrigno, author of the Assassin series and other mysteries, says that Tenzing Norbu, “may be the most interesting new P.I. in modern crime fiction.” A fifth installment in the series is currently in the works. --END--
