From Gazette: No individual will use BNF symbol - Boko Botswana National Front (BNF) President Duma Boko has said that no individual will be able to use the symbol of the party in the October general elections. This comes after a recent court victory to two BNF activists, Moses Kajane and Kitso Toister who took the party to court for de-registering the BNF electoral symbol of a golden key on a black background with a hole and using it in the umbrella symbol. Addressing members of the med...ia this morning, Boko said, “No individuals can contest elections using the BNF symbol without the sanction and authority of the BNF. This is known by everyone. So the stories that are being peddled around that certain members may contest elections using the BNF is incorrect.” He further said that the rights of the symbol and trademark was done last year in August so that it cannot be abused by any other entity or individual instead of the owner, which is the BNF. Boko also explained that their legal team is going to challenge the recent judgement. “As we speak the legal team is busy working on the matter. we will approach the court in relation to this matter probably tomorrow,” he said.
