From IHSS Consumer Union 2 Group here on Facebook.....The Community First Choice Option will be replacing the IHSS Plus Option for many of us who have Institutional Deeming Waivers (because the family earnings exceed 150% over the federal poverty level). The big difference between CFCO and IPO is that CFCO does not cap monthly hours for non severe protective supervision at 195 a month; it caps total monthly IHSS hours at 283. The end result - many of us are finally seeing the benefits of the personal care hours our children were assessed IN ADDITION to the 195 hours of protective supervision we may have been granted. The state wins, too, getting an extra 6% in matching funds from the Federal Government. This was all approved in 2012.
