From Ivan Kelly: How Should We Approach Those Awful Things Which Happen? I recently saw a video of a man taking Esther Hicks/Abraham to task for a head-in-the-sand attitude about the miseries to be found throughout the world. This man cited genocide, corporate greed and corruption as factors he was keenly alert to and which added to his misery. He was of the opinion that instead of selfishly pursuing personal happiness, we should be attacking and destroying the many ills which abound. People will often torture themselves over situations which they cannot control, contributing even more angst and negative emotion to unhappy situations. On the other hand, we do have control over our personal reactions and how we think and feel in our personal lives, so can choose to live in the light of the beauty and goodness which also exists - but we have to recognize it. In this way, we contribute ripples of kindness and compassion to world events. It may not change the event, but makes a positive contribution and allows us to experience more personal joy. We may not be able to personally stop the rain but we do have a say in how we respond to it. I thought that Abraham handled the situation well and sincerely. However, the occasion also brought to light that, in some areas, the teachings of Abraham do not provide the fuller information which many require. I believe this is because they have chosen to focus on certain key areas which need to be understood. However, material on mass events such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters, epidemics and genocide have been dealt with in a publication by Seth (Jane Roberts): The Individual And The Nature Of Mass Events (available from Amazon). Esther was acquainted with this material before the emergence of Abraham, but Abraham does not go into it in the detail that Seth does. If these are areas which concern you, have a look at the Seth book. Here is the Abraham video I referred to above. Its called The Biggest Missing Piece: https://youtube/watch?v=G-yhCO76xEU
