The House Transportation Committee has changed SB 2728 in a disastrous way. Instead of public trails being state-owned under the Public Highways Act of 1892, they would only become such IF DLNR decides to accept them. This bill is now an unconstitutional taking of public trails and historic sites. These guys at the legislature are so pilau sometimes...we need to get on this ASAP. It will be coming up in the House Finance Committee, so we need to start lobbying members of that committee to vote against this bill.
