From Jennifer Christie: So I got bit by this tiny little tick on Memorial Day and noticed when I felt a severe itching on my ankle. It wasnt engorged and I hastily ripped it off. I may have left the head behind. It left a small red bump typical of a bite but two days later this bubble appeared. I wear low socks/shoes so there was nothing for it to rub against. Ive reacted pretty badly to tick bites in the past, but nothing like this. Ive been taking pictures almost every day to show its progression. I went to the ER (fourth picture) and the doctor gave me doxycycline 100 mg once daily for a week, said itll pop on its own and to get tested for Lymes disease in six months. He also gave me ondansetron to keep the doxy down because I violently, ruthlessly, puke it up every time it hits my stomach. I was confused because last year (same time) was bit and the walk in doctor gave me doxy two times daily for a month. Thats how I found out my stomach cant tolerate it. The final picture is today. The last day of my antibiotic course. Im getting pretty nervous. It looks a lot worse than it did before the antibiotics. Its broken countless times and has reformed to the same shape and size, every time. It was a little jelly bubble, to a gel, and now the density of an unfrozen ice pack. Its getting more solid, and I really doubt its going to pop. I dont know what to do. I noticed a small pink circle surrounding the bite, Ive been having IBS symptoms (though some of it could be attributed to the doxycycline), as well as trouble sleeping and intermittent slight muscle aches in my legs and arms/hands. The worst part is that around day five of the doxy, the IBS-type symptoms got worse. I didnt sleep last night because the stomach pains were so bad. I took the final dose today, with the anti-nausea pill, and I was sick for a few hours after. What the hell do I do? Why did a small tick bite swell to such gigantic proportions? Whats going on inside the bubble. imgur/a/Hl1Lq
