From: Jenny Kastner A friend sent this. His comments are here: The article transmitted below by David Horovitz, the founding editor of the TIMES OF ISRAEL and a former editor of the JERUSALEM POST, has to be read to be believed. While the sentiments expressed in this article will astound non-Israelis, they are apparently representative of attitudes toward John Kerry being widely expressed in the Israeli media. If John Kerry has lost the confidence of the Israeli government and people, will he be obligated to resign? Indeed, the most constructive thing that Kerry could now do for his country and his reputation would be to resign on a point of principle, issuing a public letter of resignation asserting that he has always sought to serve the interests of his country to the best of his abilities and is frustrated beyond toleration by his inability to do so as secretary of state due to the insistence of powerful special interests and most of the members of Congress that the wishes of Israel must always take precedence over the national interests of the United States and the American people. Such a principled resignation would constitute a spectacular wake-up call to the American people and the world. Of course, it is overwhelmingly unlikely that he would do so. Resignations on a point of principle – indeed, principles – are not an American political tradition, and no American politician TODAY has that kind of courage and true patriotism.
