From Jim Moriarty our Music Leader: I guess the spirit of the Church Fair moved everyone. There were a good many people seated in the pews, and I too, had a full entourage of choir members whose voices reinforced the spirit of our church members. I want to thank Tim Koch, whose last minute availability, gave us the opportunity to hear a very pretty solo. It was also good to have Leo Villavicencio able to sing with us again. His Sunday work schedule unfortunately interferes with his attendance. This Sunday is our annual World Communion Service. Pat Moriarty will be leading us in the singing of the hymns. She will also sing a beautiful anthem written by a favorite contemporary composer: Heather Sorenson. Pat will also go back during the sermon to practice with our church school children a song for our special Veterans’ Day Service, November 9th. Parents, please help them memorize the words during this month and mark that date on your calendar. I will continue to encourage any of you new members to sing with the choir at least once. I think you would find it fun and rewarding. The commitment is for only a couple of weeks each month until Advent. Jazz Sunday returns October 19th.
