From Lamesa. . .tonight, Dec. 11. . . Santa, Mrs. Claus will be available to visit with children at library Wednesday, December 10, 2014 12:00 PM With Christmas only about two weeks away, Santa Claus is taking time out from his busy schedule to make some official appearances in Lamesa this Thursday evening. Several special events are planned for the holiday season, including photo opportunities with Santa Claus. The Dal Paso Museum and the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce will host their combined Christmas Open House at the museum, while Dawson County Public Library also will host an Open House. Both events will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. The museum will be decorated for Christmas. Festive food and drink, provided by board members of both the Chamber and museum, will be served. Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the event and will include a local handbell choir and pianists playing traditional Christmas music. “Everyone is invited to come to the museum and enjoy this time of gathering and celebration of the season,” said Judy Beam, president of the Museum Board. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be at the library from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Parents are encouraged to take their children to get a photograph with Santa. Parents must provide their own camera.
