From MC Govt: Event Summary AccuWeather and the National Weather Service are forecasting a strong area of low pressure that will bring snow after midnight tonight affecting the Monday morning commute. Overnight accumulations are expected to be in the range of one-inch or more, however the actual accumulations will depend on the timing of the changeover from rain, a mixture of rain and snow to all snow. The initial rain/snow mix is expected to start this evening and continue all the way through early morning Tuesday. The heaviest precipitation is expected to occur between 5 am and 7 am this morning; again depending on the timing of the changeover from a mix of rain and snow to all snow. Snow will continue through Monday into Monday night tapering off then eventually ending 4-5 am Tuesday. Total snowfall accumulations are expected in the 2 to 5 inch range with the heavier accumulations mainly in the northern and western portions of the county, while the rest of the county will likely see lighter accumulations The Department of Transportation will mobilize at 0900 this evening and treat major roads in advance of the morning commute. Weather Forecast Weather Alert Status: Accuweather Skyguard has issued a Winter Storm Alert, in effect from 3 am Monday until 5:00 am Tuesday.
