From Mark Udall - United States Senator Dear Fellow Coloradan, The catastrophic floods that swept through Colorado communities and continue to threaten northeastern Colorado have caused staggering damage across the state. These floods have destroyed thousands of homes, crippled local infrastructure and literally changed the landscape along the Front Range and parts of the mountains. My heart goes out to everyone affected by these tragic events. As search and rescue personnel press on with their efforts to save Coloradans, I am making sure our heroic first responders, the Colorado National Guard and local communities have every federal resource they need. For those affected by the flooding, I urge you to see what resources are available to help you rebuild and recover. If you sustained loss or damage and live in Boulder, Larimer, Adams or Weld County, you should immediately register for disaster assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or by visiting DisasterAssistance.gov. Here are some helpful links to information for ALL residents and businesses hurt by the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides we have experienced since last week: ◾For small businesses affected by the flooding, register your claim with the Small Business Administration; ◾For a list of housing resources available from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, visit their resource page for Colorado flood victims; ◾For farmers seeking assistance, visit the Farm Service Agency’s Disaster Assistance Programs resource page; and, ◾For a comprehensive overview of what to do before, during and after a flood, please visit the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s flood resource page. Please help me get the word out by sharing this information on Facebook, Twitter and via email. As I witnessed first-hand the areas affected by flooding — including my own neighborhood — it was clear that our communities have a long way to go to recover. But I was heartened to see Coloradans come together to help their neighbors in need. I also continue to be inspired by the bravery of the first responders and emergency crews, who are working tirelessly to bring aid to the displaced and keep our families safe. It is this strong sense of community that will allow us to recover. markudall.senate.gov/?p=blog&id=3708 Warm regards - Mark Udall
