From Mary; Hi all. This is Mary. Bobs surgery this morning went well. They took out a portion of his ascending aorta and replaced it with a synthetic part, did a by-pass, and after taking a good look at his valve decided not to replace that. He went into the OR at 7:30 and got to the ICU at12:25. He has had a rough afternoon as they needed to leave his breathing tube in longer than expected (finally took it out at 6:45pm) and they are having a hard time stabilizing his blood pressure. He is in a lot of pain as they try to find a pain med that will give him relief without causing his BP to drop. Its been a long day (up at 4:30am) and I need to get some sleep. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as the next 48 hours will be critical for a good recovery. Thanks to everyone, Mary Sent from my iPad
