From Mel, As we enter into a new year, I want to thank all of you who have been a part of Marriage Accountability. For those of you who were not able to participate because of various reasons, my prayer is that you would be able to participate in the 2015 calendar year. Please allow me to say this: unfortunately many people think of marriage accountability as a ministry for couples with marriage problems. THATS PARTLY CORRECT. The other part is that there are couples who have great marriages who just want to make them even better and at the same time help those with younger marriages to grow and be encouraged. Thats what Jesus means by being a part of the body of Christ. We are to use our gifts, talents, and strengths to help others in the body of Christ. As the pastor of Marriage Accountability, I believe wholeheartedly in the sanctity of marriage. Unfortunately as a pastor, I counsel with and talk with far too many people who are looking for the easy way out of a marriage, thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. Let me be the first to say, every marriage has its challenges, especially when the honeymoon ends and the relationship starts. When the relationship starts, thats when the work of marriage begins. Unfortunately, thats when most people want to quit. I cant promise any of you that Marriage Accountability will fix everything in your marriage. What I can promise you is that you will understand what marriage is supposed to look like from Gods viewpoint. We all have free will that Christ Jesus gave us. We can choose to obey Christ or not. I know every marriage is different. Ive counseled enough couples to know that. I also know that we serve a God who’s able to fix all things, if we are willing to trust him. We will be kicking off our first Marriage Accountability meeting at CPCC this Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 8:30am. If our Marriage Accountability Ministry leaders, Evangelo & Joanrita Morris or myself, can be of assistance to you, please let us know. I am attaching a copy of the marriage accountability schedule for the 2015 calendar year. I would also like to invite you all to a Valentine dinner and dance sponsored by the Marriage Accountability Ministry on Saturday, February 14, 2015. More details to come. Please know that all of you are in my prayers and please pray for my marriage to Sister Carver. Remember, marriage counseling through Marriage Accountability is at no charge. If youve been to Marriage Accountability, you know my story and understand why I feel so confident about Gods power to heal any marriage. If I can be of assistance, please let me know by email or call me at (813) 927-3712. In Christ, Pastor Mel
