From Melissa: I want to begin with thanking all of you for praying for us. These two days have been the hardest so far of our entire journey with Bowen. Last night the cultures of his line began to grow yeast and Bowen began to decline. At one point his fever was 104.8, heart rate was in the 200s and he was having labored breathing. They decided it was best that he be monitored in the PICU. Bowen is septic due to the fungal infection in his line. It is the bodys inflamatory response to the infection causing vessels to leak fluid all over. His pancreatic enyzymes and liver enzymes are both elevated. The liver controls clotting and because his levels have shot up they are giving him platelettes. He has a lot going on and things seem to be changing rapidly. Just know I am unable to be on my phone because I have to be right with him. A lot of this is new and he needs my reassurance. I need your prayers. This is hard. I know my Father is holding me and I delight in it and take comfort in His presence.
