From Melissa Troutman at Public Herald: Pretty cool news - Public Herald co-founders and creators of Triple Divide Joshua Pribanic and Melissa Troutman will appear in a segment of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart tomorrow, Wednesday the 26th. The segment is about problems from drilling and fracking in Pennsylvania and features impacted residents from Bradford County as well as Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi. (Melissa hates to see herself on screens and is biting her nails off right now, hopefully youll all find it a much more enjoyable experience!) TOTALLY NOT FUNNY The problems being suffered in the shale fields are no laughing matter, but satire is a good way to bring difficult topics to the publics attention. . . Weve asked the producers of the Daily Show to mention that NYC (where the show is shot and many of its viewers live) is now getting natural gas from the Marcellus Shale of northeast Pennsylvania, where the segment with impacted residents was shot for Wednesdays show.
