From Milk to Meat Devotional 1: Confidence before God and in His love Many people, though saved, live DISTANT from God. Many live condemned. And from condemned they shift to complacency, and end up deciding that they are just not cut out to be Christian. They do not feel good enough to be Christian because they struggle to be good enough in their day to day lives. The memory of their sin backs them up into corners where they can no longer kneel before God in prayer, and incline to the belief that God is absolutely ANGRY with them. They then look on the body of Christ as holier than thou, from a stand point of self disqualification saying, God I cant stop sinning and I dont feel accepted, so Ill stay on the other side. Ultimately, they feel inadequate to receive Gods love. It is because of your sins that he doesnt hear you. It is your sins that separate you from God when you try to worship him. (Isaiah 59:2 GNB) Beloved, sin separates us from our Father. When we refuse that we are new creations and purposely go on sinning- indulging the desires of our flesh, we lose confidence before The Lord. We say, how can I stand before The most Holy with all that I have been doing this past week?. We cant CONFIDENTLY enter the Most Holy Place in our time of need, as children should boldly stand before their loving parents, and neither can we worship Him or praise Him in our quiet moments. We begin to draw backwards and inwards, no longer involving Him in our day to day lives, no longer seeking His counsel, nor believing in the death and blood of Jesus that purifies us of our sins. We are self righteous and ultimately discard the truth we came to believe; Through the Son, then, God decided to bring the whole universe back to himself. God made peace through his Sons blood on the cross and so brought back to himself all things, both on earth and in heaven. At one time you were far away from God and were his enemies because of the evil things you did and thought. But now, by means of the physical death of his Son, God has made you his friends, in order to bring you, holy, pure, and faultless, into his presence. (Colossians 1:20-22 GNB) So let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, with hearts that have been purified from a guilty conscience...(Hebrews 10:22) Beloved, DRAW NEAR TO GOD! It is to disregard the blood of Jesus as an atoning sacrifice to do the contrary! Draw near to God with an upright heart, a heart committed and devoted to Him once again knowing that He has made PEACE with you through the blood of Jesus. A heart intent on receiving His love and knowing Him more. Have CONFIDENCE that Christ Jesus is your Savior and WAY to The Lord; that in Him you are fully accepted by The Lord; and that you can approach your Father anytime, CONFIDENT in His love for you! Stop living in fear of how you may sin again tomorrow and start keeping your thoughts on the OBEDIENCE of Jesus Christ and how He pleased the Father on your behalf. Grace is this: though WE ALL sinned, Jesus laid that sin on His faultless back and was crucified and took OUR punishment for us in order that we can now CONFIDENTLY DRAW NEAR TO GOD and be forever in His presence! Nothing is holding you back from God if you believe that truth! God sees Jesus when He sees you because you are His righteousness in Jesus! My righteous people, however, will believe and live; but if any of them turns back, I will not be pleased with him.” We are not people who turn back and are lost. Instead, we have faith and are saved. (Hebrews 10:38-39 GNB) Have Faith, Have Confidence, You are Saved! I love you all sincerely Head Secretary General Arena of Liberty International Ministries
