From Mrs. Bass: I hope everyone is ready for the fabulous fall weather as our days are getting shorter and cooler. Please remember to “fall back” an hour on Sunday, November 3. We want everyone to be on time for school Monday morning. I want to take a moment to thank our PTA for a fabulous start to the school year. The PTA board has rallied the support of the community, and the results are paying off. We have had record breaking PTA membership, parental involvement, and cookie dough sales. I hope everyone will join us at our November PTA meeting on Monday, November 18 at 6pm. We also invite you to stay after the meeting for Family Reading Night. 10 for Technology was very successful this year. We raised about $15,000 for new technology. I have already ordered 30 new computers, so all of our classrooms that did not get a new computer last school year will get one by December. I sincerely appreciate your support in our fundraising efforts. We currently receive no state, federal, or local funds for technology, so our local school fundraisers are critical to stay current with the technology needs of our students. If you hear your children talking about being “proactive” or “synergizing” don’t be surprised. Our school is deeply embracing the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, and the language is becoming a part of our school culture. We are seeing an increase in student leadership. Please carry over the Habits at home, and encourage the children to use the skills they are learning to improve their happiness and success at home and at school. WNN, Wildcat News Network, is broadcasting live in our building every morning. The program is entirely student lead. We have student news anchors, sound engineers, cameramen, teleprompter engineers, script writers, and special guest appearances. The students are leading and learning. This is a direct result of the 2012-2013 10 for Technology fundraiser. Thank you for your support.
