From My Front Porch: Praise...something we all long for. Come on,admit it, you would rather hear someone praise your accomplishments than criticize your efforts. When assessing the work of others Its far easier to speak a word of criticism than a word of praise. Ive heard words of praise so syrupy my head swelled with pride only to have the next person utter words that put me in my place by beating me down to the point I cried whats the use in trying? Ive resigned myself to realize that some people are just prone to being negative and critical. I tend to avoid those folks for obvious reasons! Let me encourage you today to read Gods words concerning speaking words of praise and encouragement rather that spewing your critical analysis of someone to others (otherwise known as gossip) Ephesians 4:29 NASB 29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification [b]according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. So today...lift up your fellow man by praising his efforts and then offer praise to the God who created all people. You will find it easier to lift up a brother after you have offered up praise to your Creator!
