From My Heart: Temperament To Whom It May Concern: Hello, it’s - TopicsExpress

From My Heart: Temperament To Whom It May Concern: Hello, it’s me again – just one person talking to another from the heart. I want to speak to you about temperament. Temperament often impacts our overall behavior and demeanor. I talked about anger back in May, which touched on one aspect of temperament. I have experienced major changes in my life as direct result of a change in my temperament. I’ve learned that having a bad temperament causes me to be destructive instead of constructive. Having a good temperament causes me to excel and experience peace within myself. A good (even) temperament allows me to be considerate of other people and places me in a state of mind to be reasonable. This was not the case when I was younger. I had a very bad (unbalanced) temperament. I think this was due to my lack of understanding and lack of ability to think reasonably about situations I faced. I think I’ve shared enough about my younger days to make it clear how things did not work out for me with this mindset. There are a number of people I have admired over the years and it is because of one thing they have in common: A good, even temperament. Those I admire all seem to stay on an even keel no matter what the situation and have become successful as a result. No matter how bad I may think my situation is, if I keep a good temperament, everything around me, everyone I love, seems to maintain a level of peacefulness. If you go through a storm in life with a calm, peaceful temperament, it tends to give everyone around you peace in dealing with you. Don’t misunderstand me, though...having a good, even temperament doesn’t mean you can’t take a firm stand on a matter. People may not like where I stand on some issues, but in reaction to me having an even temperament, they will at least remain civil and exhibit respect. In business, I look for even-tempered people to communicate with. Why would I want to deal with someone who gets upset easily and behaves unreasonably? I have attended many meetings with people who possessed bad temperaments. There is a lot of arguing and stubbornness, and nothing gets accomplished. Sometimes there are even more setbacks than when the meeting started. It is easy to get caught up in this climate, but when people display good, even temperaments, it allows others to process their thoughts and progress to be achieved. Very often I fall short and revert back to a bad temperament in reaction to certain situations and surroundings. Then, I remember that having an even temperament means remaining calm no matter what you are faced with. I’m not always able to do this, but I find that when I succeed in remaining calm and steady, the results are far more positive. I know that many people feel like they are being treated unfairly and unjustly, (and that might actually be the case) but if they don’t possess a good, even temperament, those setbacks will be multiplied. Having an even temperament has made it very easy for me to cross barriers of all kinds. For some people, a calm temperament comes naturally; others have to work on it. No one should be judged for this because we all have our strengths and weaknesses. I know I do. These are just my experiences. If I have reached the heart of just one person, I will feel I have been of some worth today. I am not judging anyone so please do not judge me. ~Your Humble Servant Source : thewesternedition ♥♥♥! ✔OPEN ✔LIKE ✔SHARE ✔MUCH MOREツ ◄◄ facebook/encounterafricaxperience ►► ◄◄ encounterafrica.org/ ►► ◄◄ encounterafricaxperience.blogspot/ ►►See More
