From November 21 through December 13, 2014, the Yale Repertory Theatre staged the world premiere of #Fulbright U.S. Student Program alumnus Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ new play, War, as part of its 2014-15 season. Brandon wrote War while in Berlin on his 2009-2010 Fulbright grant to Germany. The play looks at issues of German Mischlingskinder – biracial children born to German women and American soldiers during World War II, who after the war remained in Germany, and were often abandoned. Two of Jacobs-Jenkins previous plays, “An Octoroon” and “Appropriate,” together received the 2014 OBIE Award for Best New American Play. Brandon currently lives New York and teaches playwriting as an adjunct instructor at New York Universitys Tisch School of the Arts. New York City’s Vineyard Theatre will produce another of his new plays, Gloria; or Ambition, in spring 2015. #ExchangeAlumni German Fulbright Alumni Association German-American Fulbright Commission
