From Open Democracy: Urgent pls share with NHS hospital staff in particular. Are you currently being consulted by management on whether to bid to be one of Francis Maudes pathfinder Mutuals? If so, Id love to hear from you. In confidence unless you say otherwise, of course. Is the consultation process adequate (I understand its 4 weeks in August)? What do staff really think? Are they coming under pressure? What are you being told about the pros and cons? What do you think? What advice are you getting from your unions? Are you trying to fight back? Can I help? We discovered in Gloucestershire (where we stopped the largest example of the earlier wave of mutualisation) that this is a route to lowering staff conditions, removing assets from the community, and leaving formerly nhS organisations reliant on cutting corners or raising private finance. Though all these pitfalls were well-hidden in the bogus consulatations. Meanwhile the promised greater involvement turned out to be utterly fake. And the ideas have got worse, not better, since. The attached article explains in more depth. https://opendemocracy.net/ournhs/caroline-molloy/we-all-already-own-nhs-latest-mutual-spin-is-about-taking-it-out-of-our-hands Please do forward on to any other contacts you think may be affected. This could potentially be any hospital trust in England. Many thanks Caroline [email protected]
