From PARCC: Overall, support for the standards and assessments appears to be very strong among stakeholder organizations. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of English, the National PTA, the National Governors Association, the US Chamber of Commerce, and the National Business Roundtable are just a few of the groups voicing their support and working to build public understanding of the need for higher academic expectations. (cited at: susanohanian.org/core.php?id=692 Note: NCTE is officially neutral!! A strong sense of the house resolution opposing the CC was passed at NCTE a few years ago, which has been ignored. Our attempts to bring the resolution to the entire organization were blocked by a NCTE committee.
