From Pamela Casey Nagler: BATs - Lets make it clear to TIME and the public that the big city superintendent who is alluded to in the recently released, incendiary TIME magazine article titled, Rotten Apples is none other than ex-LAUSD Superintendent John Deasy, who has been recently discredited by his hasty and premature retreat in the form of a formal resignation. Deasys tenure as Superintendent was always contentious, but in recent months, he increasingly lost ground with his Board, teachers and public, even while he continued to be favored by billionaires like Eli Broad. In recent months, Deasy has bragged about being the only Superintendent in CA who would testify on the behalf of the plaintiffs in the Vergara lawsuit against job protections for teachers. In this TIME magazine article, the uncredited Deasy was the superintendent who served as inspiration for billionaire David Welchs judicial campaign against due process and seniority for public school teachers. It was the now deposed Deasy who stated that he felt like he could be more successful if he could only gain more control over his workforce. At this point in time, Deasy no longer has a workforce to administer or control.
