From Peytons Page A year ago today our little boy made this call. Jen and I were in Las Vegas for the marathon. The race was at night and P would be asleep before we finished. He knew we were still running, but called from his grandparents house to tell us he loved us and to tell us good job on our races. I saved that call and played it so many times. You see, Peyton had his first seizure that day while on the boat with his grandparents. He called us that morning after it happened, Jen and I were so scared and worried about our baby. He was so far away and all we wanted to do was hold him. P was so brave. He told us he was okay and didnt want to mess up our race. We never told him that we were both a complete mess. Peyton thought enough about us that he made that call even though he knew we would not hear it until later and even though he had had such a scary day. Our boy thought about and did things for others so much and he did it so naturally. We share our memories of him as best we can, but we will never be able to truly express the way Peyton cared about how others felt. He was so competitive and tried to win at everything he did, but would do everything he could to get a smaller kid on his team the ball for a basket, goal or touchdown. That was Peyton. We miss our little boy so very much and we cry and struggle everyday, but we know his goodness and encouragement follow us always...
