From Rachel - Olivia’s team of doctors have been by this morning. The CT scan showed no abnormalities or changes, huge praise! We are on day 9 of 14 of the antibiotics, we are hopeful her recovery will continue without any more set backs. It appears the seizure was due to her fever spiking so quickly since there are no changes on the CT. The doctors are hopeful Olivia can go home next Monday since all of her blood cultures and cerebral spinal fluid are all negative for the bacteria. Since Ollie had a seizure on her medication, the dosage has been doubled. We were informed this morning that Olivia may be in need behavioral, speech and physical therapy that will come to our home. She will not be able to attend day care for an indefinite amount of time, as a result Rachel will have to stay home with her. Prior to the diagnosis, Olivia was meeting/exceeding her milestones; cooing, holding head up, etc. Now she has no desire to hold her head up, with the therapy we will address these issues. Hearing loss is another bi-product of meningitis, in a few days she will get a hearing test. We are hopeful we can go home Monday, we sure do miss Sydney and normalcy! We are praying for (1) reduced or no fever (2) no more seizure activity (3) continued healing. Thank you all for your prayers and concern. We are truly so appreciative.
