From Rhodes to London Rhodes tourism needs promotion and Jason the pelican is the most suitable representation. Obviously a copy cat of Petros the pelican from Mykonos (youtube/watch?v=Ug3yeRL_NXo), Jason was employed in the framework of capitalising the economic paradigm set by the Italians. Although tourist economy initiated by the later as a means of propaganda, the infrastructure left constituted a wonderful attraction that further shaped Rhodes as we know it today. More importantly, it shaped the anthropogenic environment (life, education, labour, economy, mindset, tolerance) that revolves around intensive service provision for 6 months per year.
