From Rosslynn: Hi! I just wanted to share our bad experience with Krispy Kreme. My son is allergic to peanuts. Back in October I bought a pack of the pumpkin spice doughnuts from walmart. I know better than to take my son to an actual Krispy Kreme because they have peanuts on their doughnuts. However, these were store bought and packaged and produced separately than the others. The label on the package stated that it contained eggs, milk, wheat and soy. No mention of peanuts anywhere on the package so I assumed it was a safe food. My son took a tiny taste test the next morning as he is a picky eater and he immediately broke out in hives. Thankfully he was fine and I contacted Krispy Kreme to tell them about this incident. They stand firm that there is no chance of contamination in their store packaged doughnuts and that he had to have been exposed to something else he ate. He ate this doughnut first thing when he woke up and within seconds of tasting it, he knew that it was contaminated. I want to spread the word on this so it doesnt happen to anyone else. The label had no mention of peanuts anywhere.
