From Scituate Town Hall: TOWN OF SCITUATE MASSACHUSETTS Notice: Annual testing of in-ground lawn irrigation system backflow devices. Pursuant to Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (Mass DEP) Cross Connection Control Program (310 CMR 22.22), the Town of Scituate Water Division is required to test annually all backflow devices connected to the public water supply. The Scituate Water Division has contracted a state certified backflow assembly tester, Cross Connection Services, to test all commercial, industrial, and residential backflow devices. On August 8th, 9th and 10th, Cross Connection Services will be in Scituate to test backflow devices attached to residential in-ground lawn irrigation systems. The certified tester, Mr. Kurt Gaffney, will be wearing a shirt with his company’s name and will carry photo identification.
