From Select Bookstore: The Select Appreciation Sale As some of you may know, construction of the new SMU law building will begin shortly at the open space between Armenian Street and Canning Rise, directly behind the Select Books store. While we are happy that the expansion will ultimately bring more curious minds closer to the Armenian Street heritage and cultural area, we recognise the short-term impact that the noise and disruption will have on the many customers who come by to browse our shelves, join our reading groups and attend our regular book events. As such, we will be closing the Armenian Street outlet on 2 March and are currently planning to re-open at a brand new location in late 2014, to continue our mission of bringing the best of Asian and world publishing to readers everywhere, a journey that Select embarked on almost 40 years ago. To thank the many supporters who have helped us in countless ways over many years, we will be holding a store-wide sale at Select Books, 51 Armenian Street, from 14 February to 2 March, with thousands of books selling at 20%, 50% and 70% off. We hope you can come by. The books will be continually replenished until Sunday, 2 March. Our distribution and publishing operations will continue at our office as usual, and those who cannot do without their regular fix of quality books on the region can visit our online store (selectbooks.sg).
