From Senator Sherrod Brown . . . Dear Executive Committee Member: As we head into the final days before Tuesdays vote, I want to share with you why I got into this and why Im proud to support Sharen Neuhardt as the next Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party. Sharen believes that true reforms are needed within the party. If elected, Sharen will work to: Improve racial and gender diversity in party leadership and staff roles and promote inclusiveness; Work to bring all parts of organized labor back into the party; Commit to an audit of the books and make results – along with the budget – available to the Executive Committee for review; Establish an Ethics and Conflicts of Interest Policy for all staff members, party officials, and members of the Executive Committee and a procurement policy that complies with it; Address the county party structure and opportunities for support from the State Party. These are just a few of the reasons that Im so proud to support Sharen. This election is important to me because we must address these items to build a stronger party for 2016, 2018, and beyond.
