From: "Steven Mahon" To: [email protected], [email protected] Sent: Monday, September 9, 2013 10:17:19 AM Subject: [Employees] UPD Timely Notification Bulletin In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police are giving notice of acts of violence were reported to have occurred on campus Saturday, September 7, 2013. REPORTED INCIDENTS: 300 block of Warhawk Way – Aggravated Battery was reported to have occurred at approximately 8:40pm where the juvenile victim was “jumped” by approximately fifteen black male juveniles. 4200 block of Northeast Drive – 2nd Degree Robbery was reported to have occurred at approximately 9:30pm where the victim was knocked unconscious by three black male juveniles and a cell phone was taken. LaSalle Street – Felony Theft was reported to have occurred at approximately 10:30pm where the victim had a phone stolen by approximately nine black male juveniles. LaSalle Street – Felony Theft was reported to have occurred at approximately 10:40pm where the victim had a phone stolen by one black male juvenile. LaSalle Street (Foot Bridge) – Armed Robbery was reported to have occurred at approximately 10:50pm where the victim had a phone stolen by a group of black male juveniles. One of the males appeared to have a knife in his hand. ULM Police Officers are searching several area surveillance cameras for images of the suspects in the above listed incidents. Detectives are also following up on several leads. ULM Police are considering these incidents isolated due to the football game that was taking place at the same time. It is my duty to warn the community of possible “dangerous conditions” on or near the campus; an “affirmative duty” exists to warn persons associated with this university of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties. Consider carefully whether your presence at or near these locations while unaccompanied could place you in danger. Please forward this notice to your colleagues and post it on appropriate bulletin boards in your area.
