Gboyega Ajekigbe My Dear Chief, I must confess that I will personally miss you and the fun with which you brought on the job, making our otherwise odious task look simple to achieve. I will not also forget the fatherly manner you have handled lots of complex issues and saved careers of many. I particularly will not forget the fatherly intervention you did in 2006 on my behalf. I had been appointed BL in Adetokunbo Ademola Branch. The physical / business rot in that branch then was a rude-shock and discouraging to me. I had done a mail to EXCO pouring my frustrations. You had called me to your office with my supervisor and fatherly showed me where I went wrong in the mail. You took it upon yourself to lovingly direct me and intervene on my behalf to EXCO. That singular kindness and love from you saved my career and endeared you to me. I will not also forget the ‘Hello Neighbour’ years of 2002/2003 – a brain-child of yours – which brought Fidelity to the nooks and cranny of Lagos and Nigeria. It was a new kind of mass marketing as never seen before in Nigeria and the banking industry. You thought me to dress / groom great and stand out in any crowd. You will remain indelible in my mind, my great ED. I LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU God bless you, my ED, MY CHIEF, THE AKPOKUEDIKE …. Isaac Usanga Akpokuodike! Akpokuodike!! Akpokuodike!!! The first time I had a one-on-one with you was during my induction as a new recruit in 2008. Since then, I have had the impression of you as a man of many bright colours. In fact, indeed and in truth, this is moving up, absolutely stepping up. How I wish I could have a career, half as successful as yours. Most importantly, too, how I wish I could work half as hard as you do. One thing will I wish and pray for: that the next CBN Governor will be Chief Willie Obiano. Chief, please make a move for that, you will do better than any other CBN Head in History. As you step aside, up; may your star never dim. Augustine O. Ndukauba Akpokuedike Aguleri Otumba Atayese of Ilemeso Ekiti I salute you my General. It is like a dream that this day has come to pass. I taught it will never come.I have read your mail severally and it keeps given me different meaning at each time. Akpokue (Chief), I am short of words. I couldn’t write till now because I am still in tears. Tears of mix feeling for a man of so many perfect characters, a wonderful (Husband, Father, Mentor, Seasoned banker, Industrialist, Bridge builder, Giver, Philanthropist extra ordinary etc….). You represent different thing to So many people. I know only one thing is sure, like the subject of your mail (Moving to Another Level). Certainly, you are moving to a greater and higher level. May the Good Lord protect you for us. As you fondly say when delighted with good job “cheers” to Otumba Atayese of Ilemeso Ekiti. The little time I spent with you has made me a better person. Your Boy. Leo Ogbuefi Good morning, Chief. I want to use this medium to express my profound gratitude to you for your kind heartedness to all and sundry. Many people started with you, but could not make it to their retirement age, but the Lord uphold, sustain and strengthen you with his Mighty Hands of righteousness. The Lord that has kept you this far, will cause you to witness the marriages of your children and see your grand children even great grand children. Remain strong in the Lord. Juliet Otu Good day sir, Akpokuedike 1. Congratulation on your achievements and successful retirement even though not tired. You remain a key factor in the love I have come to have for this organization called Fidelity. We met even before I made up my mind about working in a bank. The decision for Fidelity was motivated by the encounter I had with you that fateful day. Not every executive will do what you did that day for their employees. You put yourself at personal risk and inconvenience just to make sure your people were alright on that fateful day when the staff bus broke down on the third mainland bridge on a rainy night. That day, I saw an executive that values his human resources and I wanted to be a part of it all. I must also confess that ever since I joined the team I have not lost the conviction I had ab initio. You will be greatly missed – your person, your competence and contributions to our bank and above all your swag and carriage that was a source of encouragement to many of us young ones. I do not know what else to say but I pray that you will continue to enjoy your life in health and peace of mind, even in retirement. May you prosper in whatever future endeavours you choose to do. All the best My Chief. Akabuo Onyinye Chief, it’s all tears over my face!! I cant believe that you are leaving us soon. How about those fatherly support and advise! What about the Love and Care you always give to all of us!! What about the work speed?? How do we manage without you?? I must confess the gap is too wide to be filled in a hurry, if at all it will!! Personnally, i cannot forget you, for you have made me a better person working with you. You are morethan an ED to me, but a father. I am already missing you, and feeling heart broken!! May God Almighty be with you in everything you do now and always and may He protect and guide your steps. May you continue to be the happy person that you are with good health and more prosperos life after service. Chief we can’t forget you!! Remain Blessed. Bolaji Omotoso Very painful that you are leaving us at this moment. When I first heard that you are about leaving us, I did not believe it. Not until this morning that I read MDs mail on your retirement,I never thought of believing it to be true. Since you yourself have also confirmed it, Sir, I will personally MISS you. Of a truth, I will miss everything about you including your title name ( AKPOKUEDIKE NA AGULERI ). In as much as I have played and lost two Fidelity games football final matches to the South-West region, I am still happy that I did not go home empty handed. The final matches gave me the opportunity to have hand shakes wit you and the silver medals which you handed over to us. Truly, those were great honours and privlileges to me. I also want to use this opportunity to inform you that I am the very humble boy who used to do the needful any time to you send an instruction from either Oga Paul or Oga Henry to debit you and settle your mums driver. Since it is time to say good bye, I, we & the entire Fidelity staff will miss you. I am personally not happy because you would not be there again to exchange match past salutes with us during the Fidelity Games festivity. Needless to say that God will bles you bacause you are already blessed. Rather, I am wishing you a splendid LONGEVITY so that you will live to enjoy the fruit of your wonderful & marvellous labour. You have been a pillar, an inspirational thorough-bred Banker/ Achiever par Excellence, a jolly good fellow, my Akpokuedike of aguleri, Otunba of Ekiti , the Makossa (sorry you thought me it is Soukouse) grandmaster. I will personally miss your support and mentoring. I will miss your unique brand identity and personality that commands CCC (confidence, conviction and competence). The truth is you are only taking a GIANT LEAP on the corporate ladder. You are bigger, greater, nicer, and more significant than what your website video says you achieved in Fidelity. John Maxwell said there is a difference between SUCCESS and SIGNIFICANCE. Successful people add value to themselves. Significant people add value to others”. Sir you have attained the highest level as a SIGNIFICANT MAN and I make bold to say that you are an institution in your own right. My only advise sir is that as you move to the next level remember as my pastor always says that “ at every new LEVEL there is a new DEVIL”. Please beware of sycophants and praise singers who only do eye-service. NEVER stop nurturing and Raising the Bar in the seven most important segments of successful living which are 1. Spiritual 2. Professional 3. Social 4. Personal Financial Planning & mgt 5. Healthy living 6. Family 7. Continuous intellectual growth. Chief please continue to devote quality time to all these segments as you have done over the years. I.E always sharpens the saw` (Steve Covey). Sir finally if i have in anyway offended or dissapointed you in anyway in the past , I implore you for forgiveness as I still as always count on you for support and mentoring. May God continue to bless you HEALTHILY and WEALTHILY. Aik Alenkhe. Willie, On this your last working day at Fidelity, I wish you God’s blessings and guidance in your future endeavors. You have put your absolute best to make Fidelity what it has become… we, as customers will miss your dedicated and professional service. Well done, my friend, my brother. Please keep in touch. God bless. Ngozi Aniagolu Good morning Chief, I want to let you know that I enjoyed every second I spent with you at Fidelity Bank. Your aura remains unequaled. As you step into another phase in your fulfilled life, I wish you the very best! Many thanks Enyioma Iwanyanwu Sir, It is an honor and privilege to have met you. There are only a few in your caliber and class. We are proud to celebrate your success and achievements. It’s a beginning of greater days and honor for you and family. I’m your greater fan sir. Chukwuma Ifebuzo Sir, In dealing with us you were an open access. As a man of great style you were stern and equally firm but all colored with panache. Not only did you bring SHOW into real business of banking, you garnished glamour with polished conservatism. So resourceful, colorful, yet never lost base with tradition. You were a reference point of what the HOLY book called good and great success. As you take a glorious walk into another phase of eventful life, be assured that we shall yet sing a new song for you, because you have been setup for another TOP. See you at the topmost top. Akin Ibisiagba We join you in giving glory to God for your achievement, mentoring, branding and the army of faithful’s you groomed and left behind. Your footsteps on the sands of Fidelity shall continue to be engraved in eternity. May God bless you and continue to make you an instrument in His hands. Thank you Eddidgo & Family
