From The Isaac Conservation and Wildlife Trust: Crikey! The Nest Te Kōhanga vet team at Wellington Zoo have been treating a highly unusual case. A kaka from Zealandia Ecosanctuary was admitted with a serious sinus infection caused by a microchip in his sinuses. How did it get there you ask? Its not his own microchip (which he does not have) and is not one registered to Zealandia. The best guess is that, being a curious parrot, he was playing with the microchip and accidentally inhaled it into his nasal cavities! Click on the link to read more...
