From The most loved column of Womans Era... HOW I MET MY HUSBAND Over a phone call We’ve just celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary but sweet memories never fade. I was working as customer care-cum-HR for a very good company. One of my colleagues wanted to make a phone call to his friend who was admitted in a hospital. I allowed him to use my personal landline phone. Just then the accounts manager (a strict person) was coming our way. Frightened, he gave the phone to me and ran off as he was very scared of the manager. I didn’t know what to do. So I just told the person on the other and that my friend was busy and asked him to call back later. He insisted on knowing my name, but I wasn’t willing to give my name, so I put the receiver down. The next day the receptionist said a guy wants to speak to me and she put him on hold. As soon as I heard his voice, I was very upset. I told him not to contact me again. A few days later, on the pretext of seeing my colleague, he came to my office and approached me directly. I didn’t know it was the patient but he struck up a conversation with me and we kept talking. Later on our friendship grew into love and here we are – celebrating our eighth wedding anniversary with our five-year-old daughter. Every year we talk about the obstacles we faced.
