From Turkey.."its becoming increasingly hard to communicate by internet here…..The state is being clever…they have not turned off the internet, they have slowed it to such a crawl that it has barely able to post (that way they can say they did not turn it off), you cannot watch videos, streaming is impossible…Facebook and Twitter is all but impossible in the cities of Istanbul and Ankara, it has I have been informed been turned off completely in the taksim area of istanbul and other likely protest areas (which i must add is home to all the major foreign hotels like Hilton, Marriot, Intercontinental). Hotels i believe have been told at present once those rooms empty near Gezi, not to relet them until authorised by the Govt. I am barely online here in SW Turkey, hence you understand how hard it is to get news to you. I am worried because some of the sources i have heard from have suddenly gone silent on FB. One friend in particular has not been heard from since Monday.
