From VDOT: Route 205 has re-opened to traffic at the Mattox Creek bridge in Westmoreland County. A new traffic pattern is in place at the bridge. Traffic has been reduced to one lane, and temporary traffic signals are active on each approach to the bridge. These signals will control traffic crossing the bridge, and will be in place through July 2016, when the bridge replacement project is complete. Construction began in June on an estimated $8.1 million project to replace a structurally deficient bridge over Mattox Creek. The bridge had been closed to all traffic since Tuesday, July 15, so the contractor could stage barriers and equipment required for the new traffic pattern. The replacement bridge will have two 12-foot travel lanes, with two 10-foot shoulders.
