From Will Hailer, For the past two years we have fought an incredible fight in this state and strengthened this party into the envy of every state party in the country. We had an incredible ticket, amazing partners, we raised massive amounts of resources and while the results werent what we wanted, we set a new foundation for this party to carry us into years to come. It is with a conflicted heart I send you the news that December 31st will be my last full-time day with the state party here in Texas. Roughly two years ago I walked into a small law firm outside of Houston and met with the Chair and a handful of other people and knew I was home and the party would be a great fit. The passion, energy and love that this Chair has for Texas is incredible. His heart is literally as big as Texas and I can’t think of a better person to have spent the miles, laughs, dream and work with than Chairman Hinojosa. The days away from his family, the money from his own pocket he spends fighting for our party and most importantly the person that I can always call with a problem and get the exact right piece of advice to solve it. There isn’t a better state party chair in the history of this country than my dearest friend, Gilberto. As many of you know, my incredible girlfriend Shannon moved down to Texas with me. Our hope was to spend multiple cycles and Texas and while we have loved every minute of it, we learned that the miles, nights away and distance from our family couldnt last. We also knew that the party deserved someone that could continue to put in the seven days a week while making a multiple cycle commitment to Texas. I was offered a position with BerlinRosen in their Washington D.C. office near the majority of Shannon’s family. BR was named this year’s top small public relations firm by the New York Observer and they are doing incredible work across the country helping get Democrats elected, fighting for causes near and dear to our hearts and advancing an agenda for working families. We are looking to spend a little more time together and more time with family while still keeping up the fight. The state of Texas will turn blue. It will turn blue because of the work of thousands of dedicated Texans fighting to make this state strong. Fighting for the working families in Texas. Fighting for the rural families in Texas. Fighting for young African American and Latino families in Texas. Fighting for marriage equality. The foundation has been built. We did it together and it was an experience of a lifetime. Thank you for the memories, thank you for the friendship, thank you for your passion and thank you for your support of our party, our chair and this great state.
