From Your Library: This evening @ 7:00 pm (Monday, Nov. 4) is the next Pinterest class! The topic is Cake Decorating. Have you always admired those beautifully decorated cakes, cupcakes and desserts and wished you could do that? Now YOU can! Join us to learn some great tips for delightful dessert decorating. Youll learn techniques for fondant and icing. All supplies will be provided. If you have some of your own supplies, such as decorating bags or fondant molds, feel free to bring them along. Teacher: Sherree Stahn. Fee: $4. Next class: Rag Baskets, Monday, Dec. 2. The Pinterest Cookie Swap will be held again this year (Wednesday, Dec. 18 @ 6:00 pm) Please sign up with your recipe by Monday, Dec. 17 (to avoid duplicated recipes). Thursday, November 21, 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Just in time for the holidays! PIE BAKING with Phyllis Bartholomew (Pumpkin Pie with Pecan Topping). This class will be held in Central City. $36 includes: hands-on instruction, recipe and a homemade pie to take home. Phyllis received the Grand Champion at the National Pie Baking Contest in Florida. She owns Blue Ribbon Pie Company and has taught pie baking classes for many years. Please bring a glass pie dish and a rolling pin. A navigator from Central Nebraska Community Services will be holding an informational session @ the library to help you understand how the marketplace works. Participants should bring employer and income information for every member in the household who needs coverage such as pay stubs or W-2 forms, as well as policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering members of the household and Social Security numbers. Please contact the library in advance of the session to make a reservation (946-2512). Be sure to stop in and see the beautiful Christmas of Sharing doll quilts that are currently on display at the library! The quilts were made by members of the Central City Lone Tree Quilt Guild. Reading Rodeo Team participants: Dont forget to have your books signed off at the library (on your bookmark), when you return them. It only takes 3 books read, to earn your FREE Texas Roadhouse Kids Meal! As the library will be closing @ noon on Veterans Day (Nov. 11): the Art Club has been rescheduled this month, to Monday, November 18 @ 3:30. Circumstances are such, that the International Fun & Flair program has been delayed until sometime after the first of next year. We will keep you informed and let you know when it will begin. Lucys Garden is now open! Be sure to stop in and take a look at this new area in the childrens section. The books in this area are categorized by theme: reading, writing, counting, talking, singing, or playing. There is no set order in which to read the books (you set your own pace). Every time a book is read, it is marked off in a folder. The folders are kept at the library in a designated space.
