From a Bitter Clinger We are living in desperate times and it only takes a quick glance at any days headlines as proof and many people are fearful. They fear for their children and the fear for their country. Islamic insanity is raging across the middle east and now comes to our shores by way of Fort Hood, New Jersey, New York, and most recently Oklahoma City. Ebola threatens to kill 5 million in West Africa alone and at home a “mystery disease” is infecting our children from coast to coast with some dying and others facing paralysis. Our government pursues policies overseas that enables and emboldens our enemies, while at home it is actively destroying our economy, our healthcare, and through dependency on government the hopes and dreams of millions. Our government has thrown open our borders; a direct threat to our physical security , our national sovereignty and identity. It has turned the force of governmental agencies on our citizens; prosecuting dissent and forcing the fundamental transformation of our constitutional form of government; one our president openly declared as fundamentally flawed even as it was Divinely inspired. People are fearful and they cry out, “what can we do?”, yet they know the answer. When America suffered the devastating attack on 9/11, the people instinctively knew what to do. They remembered their salvation would not come from Washington, but from the God of our founding. And while they were afraid, millions who had not been to a church or even thought much about God suddenly knew where they would find comfort and strength. They flocked to churches. They reached out to God and prayed for His protection. Today, there is no doubt we live in desperate times, but we will not be afraid. “Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge and though the noise of which causes mens hearts to fail them for fear“, we will not be afraid for we know as we have always known in times of trouble and in times of peace where our salvation lies, where our protection comes from, and where our source of true strength lives.
