From a Parent (From a JLHS World Guard Mom) Less than a month from the Winter Guard International (WGI) Championship in Dayton, Ohio, we still don’t know if we have enough money to send our talented JLHS World Guard to the competition. This is very troubling to me. We need to raise enough money for their plane tickets, hotel, meals, practice sites and van rentals, etc. We need the money, and we need it quickly. These are all actual out-of-pocket expenses for each guard member, every dollar is to be spent directly o...n these youngsters. Guard parents, come on! Step up to the plate! Contribute your share of the costs of the trip, or at least as much as you can. Our Guard worked so hard for excellence, they deserve the chance to show their ability. Show them our full support, let them focus on their performance, and not have to worry about whether they can arrive at the stadium. It will be a very memorable experience for each of them, it will worth more than what money can pay for. Let’s get them to Ohio! Come on! Let’s make it happen. And my plea to all JLHS band boosters, alumni, alumni family, friends, friends of friends, and fans - if you would like to support the team, please make a donation. Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated. We already know that our World Guard is one of the best, let them be the worthy competitor in the WGI Championship, let them shine among the best of the best! Thank you. Tess.
