From a client, again re conferences: I just wanted to say thanks for the advice in your blog on making the most of the national conference. At last year’s XXX Association conference, even though I presented, I was feeling off my game and didn’t do much networking. This year, I attacked the conference with historic passion. I made an effort to engage in genuine conversations with as many colleagues as possible and to follow through by giving them my business card and getting theirs. I even networked on the shuttle bus to the hotel, leading to two invitations to apply for open TT positions at good universities. Nice work, client!
