From a fellow Aut Mama: I was wondering if one of you fantastic moms or dads could help me out. DD is 3 1/2 yrs and was evaluated by our local public school system. I was told during the evaluation (back in November) that I would be contacted by the school she could be placed at for an IEP meeting. WELL I was contacted by the school but now instead of calling it an IEP meeting they are calling it an eligibility meeting. DD is moderately autistic, and has an official diagnose. The school is not my local school rather it is 30-35 minutes away will plenty of other public schools between. My question/wondering is if she does get placed at the school for their special needs program does the eligibility meeting count as an IEP meeting or will they just discuss their findings and go over the reports and then schedule an IEP meeting? Thanks for any help you guys can provide!
