From a mate, thoughts anyone?? Gday, got a new unfairness, rort, scam for you if you have any mates that travel around like me see if they come across it as I am outraged! Hotels now demand a minimum of $100 on a credit card in case you use a mini bar or other incidentals... It used to be a swipe of the card.. They freeze the money on the card.. Now here is the rort... I dont have a credit card I use visa debit cards I.e. My own money. They then dont release the money on check out they notify through Eftpos the bank and the bank have a policy of releasing the freeze from 5-10 working days... So effectively you cant use your own money for this period when you have already paid these rorting hotel people for the room you stay in... The lastest one I am staying in has no mini bar and wanted to freeze $250... Be interested if any of your mates know of this as I am thinking of starting something and want to expose the rort going on... Sorry to rant yet again on your pages
