From a member : Hi team First time caller long time listener (please keep anon, cheers) to all the Boily Brethren out there. Here are a few happy snaps of structural welding allowed by the QBCC (Queensland Building & Construction Commission) on patio & verandah structural uprights. The Building Apprentice who did the welding has done Cert 1 & 2 in Engineering Construction and believed that was sufficient and had no idea what AS:1554.1 was at all when asked. His boss has never been welding accredited and admitted that he does structural welding to the inspectors when asked!! How can the state & federal governments allow these cowboys to continue this practice, when our careers & futures depend on us having the upmost precision in our work!! Can something be done!!??
