From a member: The way I can beat depression is with a little medication, and also getting enough rest...early to bed, early to rise, and some good exercise and whole foods...and of course some good spiritual food in whatever way I choose, every day if possible. I also love vacations...with family and/or friends along with me, vacations where it is not crowded, and it is close to nature. It also helps to help someone when I am down. Those things can lift your spirits immensely. I also love to go to a good concert when I have a friend or friends to go with. Work also helps if you just do as much as you can do, anything that moves your muscles and changes your sad or negative thoughts as you go. Another good way to fight depression is to get a pet, or take a swim or a hike, or a bike ride...or just a walk...walk a dog, say "hi" to a neighbor, strike up a friendship along the way if that is possible.
