From a physics standpoint I challenge this. Look under the bonnet of a car at night, observe the flashover. Engines run next to where you are filling. 2. Starter motors, same deal. 3. If a lit match can be extinguished in a 200 litre petrol drum, 4 what about car remotes? 5. If its really such an issue what about static discharge when placing the nozzle in the vehicle filler neck? Finally why wasnt the tanker earthed before he climbed on it. This is more to do with static discharge than a very low rf (radio frequency) output. Come to think of it if the rf output of a mobile phone is so potentially lethal whay are we allowed to use them for protracted periods near our heads/brains? I smell duplicity here.
