From a supporter: Please post. Be patient, friends. Karma is a vengeful character who bides her time to strike. But she is there, ever-waiting. Its been a long 8 year battle with my husbands exwife. In and out of court. Trying to disprove her lies. Trying to keep the children safe, happy, and naive to it all. DHHS has been involved, indicating Mom for low-moderate abuse. Police have been involved. Mom has been on and off with parent alienation against my husband. Her attempt to obtain a PFH against him failed. Little by little, her lies are shining bright. And people (powers that be) are beginning to take notice. Baby steps..... We now have sole custody of my husbands 13 yr old. Although the 12 yr old and 9 yr old still reside with Mom, it is only a matter of time before they are here. She doesnt truly want them - only the money they provide her with. And that is slowly decreasing as well. The child support was decreased by nearly $100/week in May when Hubby was awarded custody of their 13 yr old. Mom has been on the system since 2006. She has moved herself and the children 12 times in 8 years. Each relocation included a new live-in boyfriend to support her. Sometimes the boyfriends were good guys, and sometimes they werent. The good guys didnt last long though. They saw too quickly who she really was. Food stamps caught up with Mom a couple months ago. She is now prohibited from benefiting through that program due to falsifying information about her household, and refusing to seek employment. In this State of Maine, it is law: in order to maintain food stamps benefits, a person must work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Non-compliance results in a loss of those food benefits. Also, these benefits are tallied per a persons household income. Mom is currently living with a boyfriend (and has been for over 2 years) who earns over $75,000 a year. Mom was not reporting his income. They live in a beautiful 5 bedroom cape with 2 horses, 3 purebred dogs, 3 newer vehicles, a new motorcycle, and a timeshare in Tennessee. Hard to claim poverty with all of that at your feet... Per the court and child support order, my husband is compelled to carry medical insurance for all 3 of their children. It is expensive. In this State, if he carries full medical insurance, it cancels out the child support cash benefit to Mom. Kind of a State incentive for Fathers to carry their children on their insurance policies, and avoid more children on the welfare insurance option, which taxpayers fund. Hubby and I have been measuring our options in the health insurance marketplace, and because we are a farm, we are approve for some tax subsidies. As it is our duty, we notified Mom of our intentions to comply with the court order regarding insurance. Mom flipped out. A class-A nutter. She lashed out in anger. Why? Because offering their children private health insurance is not a priority to her. Receiving that cash money every week is. Unfortunately, because she makes the conscious decision NOT to work and has resisted it for years in court, yet still receives some welfare benefits.... since my and my hubbys medical insurance policy to cover all 4 of our children (plus ourselves) far exceeds the child support obligation every week.... Mom is responsible for paying the first $250 of uninsured medical costs toward our deductible every year.... She is also responsible for 33% of ANY uninsured medical costs..... Never give up, my friends. I have to tell my husband this all the time. Hubby and I have been broke by this woman. We have paid over $230,000 in child support to her since 2007. Our combined household income has never exceeded $35,000/year. We have starved, sold all of our assets, and suffered under this oppressive court order. My husband lost his job last December, and it was devastating. But..... it appears things are changing.... Never give up. Never give up. Never give up. It will improve. You will eventually get your children back because you deserve them. And evil will eventually fall. Good will rise again. Lies can be proved lies. Criminals are eventually caught. I can believe that now. The tides are changing. The tables are turning. Slow, but sure. Never give up.
